"Veritas was looking for a location where it could consolidateits six offices located throughout the neighborhood into a singleheadquarters location," says FirstService Williams associate EricFerriello in a release. The nonprofit's main office is currently at912 Amsterdam Ave. Ferriello adds that the 10th-floor space at 55W. 125th enabled the tenant "to centralize its space in a class Abuilding and still stay within its means."

Asking rents at the 14-story office property are $39 per squarefoot. The lease gives Veritas the right to expand on the remainderof the 17,000-square-foot floor. Along with the Social SecurityAdministration, Pathways to Housing and the New York CityAdministration for Children's Services, other tenants at 55 W.125th include former president Bill Clinton, who established hisoffice there in 2001 after leaving office.

Veritas, which offers job training, educational and vocationalskills and substance abuse treatment programs, was represented inits search for new space by Ferriello and his FSW colleagues,senior executive managing director Robert T. Tunis and seniormanaging director Richard M. Warshauer. Ross Jacobs was thein-house representative for landlord Cogswell Realty in leasenegotiations, while Sheila Naysan was Cogswell's in-house attorney.Lawrence Lenzner and Kerri Alessi from Patterson Belknap Webb &Tyler LLP represented Veritas.
