Triad Technology is fully leased to National Institutes of Health, which includes its National Institute on Aging's Intramural ResearchProgram, the National Institute on Drug Abuse and the National HumanGenome Research Institute. It is the second acquisition by the REIT inthe Baltimore/Washington, DC area, according to a statement by Mark D.Engstrom, HTA's executive vice president of acquisitions. The REITcontinues "to look for strategic opportunities to partner with stronghealthcare organizations," he says.
Indeed, Healthcare Trust has been steadily acquiring medical assetsfor the past several months. Its first Baltimore deal occurred latelast year, when it purchased the 62,000-square-foot Smyth Professional Building for$11.2 million.
Other recent deals by the Scottsdale, AZ-based REITinclude a $107 million acquisition of Roskamp Management Co. LLC's17-asset medical office building portfolio in January. Healthcare Trustalso acquired the 53,169 square foot King Street Medical OfficeBuilding for $10.7 million in Jacksonville, FL, as well asa 92,500-square-foot office portfolio in San Angelo and Corsicana, TXand Fort Wayne, IN for $20.5 million
