Opus Northwest LLC is developing the project, in conjunctionwith Opus Architects and Engineers, and Boston-based architecturalfirm Shepley Bulfinch.

The design hopes "to create a destination on campus thatcelebrates the values and culture of the University, while engagingthe entire University community, and establish St. Thomas as thecollege of choice among their competition," according to JohnSolberg, president and CEO of Opus Northwest.

The new student center will replace current facilities, comingout of the ground at Summit and Cretin Avenues. The L-shapedbuilding will include dining facilities, a four-lane bowlingcenter, dance floor, pool tables and a first floor recreation area.There will also be offices for The Division of Student Affairs,Campus Ministry, Auxiliary Services and other student organizationsand clubs. Lastly, the building will also have a store to purchaseUniversity of St. Thomas merchandise and a convenience store.
