Pfeifer, who briefly served as a consultant to Lane before accepting her new post, previously was COO/CIO of Atlanta-based Place Properties Inc. In that role, she oversaw placement of more than $250 million of investor equity while leading the multifamily company's development, construction, acquisition, property management and asset management teams.
"Lane Co. not only has a fabulous reputation, but it is continuing to grow," says Pfeifer, who was also a partner and CFO with locally based Carter for more than 20 years. "We're going to aggressively seek market opportunities with various new capital resources."
Lane's expertise spans 35 years and includes apartment and condominium acquisition, property management and investment management. Company founder George Lane remains chairman and CEO, while Rob Couch continues as president of Lane Management, the company's property management arm.
"Cindy is uniquely qualified to lead Lane Co. through this period of our history," Lane says. "Her decades of experience through several up and down economic cycles will help us identify new opportunities to grow the business."
