LEED is the nationally recognized benchmark for the design,construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.Certification for existing buildings helps building owners andoperators maximize operational efficiency while minimizingenvironmental impact, addressing whole-building cleaning andmaintenance issues, including chemical, water and energy use,exterior maintenance programs and systems upgrades.

At Metroview, LaSalle Investment Management was able to reduceoverall energy usage by sub-metering tenant spaces, shutting offnon-essential lights during the nights and weekends and replacingmercury-powered lights in outside parking structures with moreenvironmentally friendly bulbs. LaSalle also installed low-flowwater fixtures throughout the building's bathrooms andkitchens.
