The company was looking for possible locations near itsSacramento plant, according to Bruce Lish, Blue Diamond Growersgeneral manager of industrial operations. Ken Giannotti, McClellanPark's senior vice president of leasing, says that the businesspark is planning extensive interior and exterior renovations toaccommodate Blue Diamond. The improvements will include renovatingthe offices and restrooms, adding new truck dock doors and, mostimportantly, upgrading the building's cooling system to meet BlueDiamond's specifications.

The rail-served industrial building, used as a supply house bythe Air Force, was constructed with eight-inch-thick concrete wallsand a four-inch-thick concrete ceiling, providing better insulationand significant energy savings. Located on Lang Avenue, the newfacility provides accessibility to I-80, where future roadwayimprovements are planned at the Main Ave entrance to McClellanPark.

Blue Diamond Growers is the world's largest tree nut processingand marketing company. It led the development of California'salmond industry from a minor domestic specialty crop to the worldleader in almond production and marketing.
