He notes that the building is centrally located at the base ofthe San Mateo bridge and features many improvements advantageous tothe printing firm's operations, such as heavy power, HVAC andparking that meets Mimeo's requirements. The building is owned byDCT Industrial, a Denver-based publicly traded REIT that wasrepresented by Colliers senior vice president Greig Lagomarsino andYamin.

Lagomarsino notes that the transaction is "one of only fourdeals over 50,000 square feet signed in the first quarter of 2010."Mimeo is headquartered in New York City, with regional printingoperations in Newark, New Jersey, Memphis, Tennessee and nowHayward. Specific terms of its lease were not disclosed.

The Mimeo lease is one of two recently closed transactionsinvolving firms from out of the area that have relocated or haveplans to relocate in Northern California. In the other, thenational law firm of Foley & Mansfield has signed an eight-yearlease for 23,445 square feet of office space at Oakland's KaiserCenter at 300 Lakeside Dr. The Minneapolis-based law firm will movefrom Downtown Oakland to the Lake Merritt area property in July orAugust of this year, according to Charlie Allen and Ryan Hattersleyof Cushman & Wakefield, who represented the Swig Co., owner ofthe 910,000-square-foot office complex.
