Starwood Sells W Hotels for $78M

NEW YORK CITY-The company is selling the two assets to London-based St. Giles Hotels, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Starwood purchased the two asserts in 1996. London-based St. Giles is dropping the W name from the properties when the acquisition is near completion.

Starwood owns four other W-branded hotels in the city. Currently under construction is the W Downtown. Starwood currently owns 6.5% of the 973 assets that carry its brand names.
