Designed by KTGY Group, Inc. Architecture and Planning, the Crossing is adjacent the Metrolink Anaheim Canyon Station, at 3530 E. La Palma Ave., near North Tustin Avenue. Michael Bissell, president of the Sares Regis Group's multifamily property management division, calls the new complex "the most environmentally advanced community we've developed." He says that the company set out to develop a green, premium, resort-like apartment community and was well into construction when it decided, based on internal research, that the complex also should be smoke-free.
Bissell said new residents at the Crossing are attracted by the combination of the property's greenness as well as its easy access to transportation corridors, key job centers, shopping, dining and entertainment. Leasing began last fall and the first residents began moving in last December as the first phase of apartment homes was completed. Since then, 118 apartments have been leased out of the 180 completed to date.
The units range from lofts to two-bedroom apartments, some with dens, including 39 live/work units. There are 11 floor plans with the units ranging from 639 square feet to 1,421 square feet. Rents range from $1,320 to approximately $2,165.
David Senden, a principal with KTGY and lead designer on the project, notes that the complex—is the first residential community in the commercial Anaheim Canyon redevelopment area—was built on a 5.2-acre site that previously housed a warehouse. "This new development will spur the area's conversion to quality residential," Senden says.
Community amenities include a club room that opens to a pool deck, a business and conference center, a screening room, a high-tech fitness center, a yoga studio, a game room and five themed courtyards, a sports zone barbecue area with two big-screen outdoor TVs and an outdoor demonstration kitchen.
