COLMA, CA-Nonprofit developer Bridge Housing is slated to debutits new $45.5 million, 119-unit Trestle Glen transit-orientedapartment development today. The five-story apartment complex,designed by KTGY Group Inc. Architecture and Planning, are at 370F. St. at the 2.7-acre site of a former mobile home park next tothe Colma BART station in an unincorporated area of San MateoCounty.

The project, described by KTGY as pedestrian-friendly andeco-friendly, is designed as work force housing for familiesearning between 20% and 50% of the area median income. Its 119units range from one to three-bedrooms, with rents at $403 to$1,400 per month, based on family and apartment size and incomelevel. Common area amenities include a community center with akitchen, a 56-space child care facility with outdoor play space,landscaped courtyard areas, basketball court, tot lot and laundryfacilities.

Bridge Housing president and CEO Cynthia Parker points out thatthe average household in San Mateo County spends $32,693 annuallyon housing. “Trestle Glen addresses the severe affordable housingneed, especially for working families in San Mateo County, withannual incomes ranging from $16,491 to $56,550 for a household offour,” Parker said.
