FALL RIVER, MA-The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe has changed its mind as to where it would like build a new casino. Previously, the tribe had given the nod to nearby Middleboro, but after further consideration regarding the $250 million in infrastructure that would come with the construction, decided against it, according to the Cape Cod Times.
The 300-acre site, here, was set aside for a biotech site, but the tribe's purchase would transform the area into a casino, three hotels and a shopping mall. There is a possibility that the town of Middleboro may sue the Mashpee Wampanoag for breach of contract, however no suit has been filed as of today.
