BARCELONA, ITALY-Foreign and national investor interest in theSpanish commercial real estate market is still strong. Biddinginterest in Barcelona’s prime landmark office building at AvenidaDiagonal 640 is intensifying.

The two German fund managers Deka and Rreef have made bids, withDeka’s said to be the highest. Realia, the owners of the building,consider that its value is $193 million, which makes it the largestongoing sale in the Spanish commercial real estate investmentmarket at the current time.

The Rreef bid is associated with Metroinvest, the investmentgroup of Spanish savings bank La Caixa and two Spanish familyoffices, Gallardo (owners of Almirall) and Costafreda (founders ofPanrico).
