The Virginia Economic Development Partnership and Fairfax CountyEconomic Development Agency offered incentives to secure theproject for Virginia, including a $250,000 grant from theGovernor’s Opportunity Fund to assist with the project and trainingassistance from the Virginia Department of Business Assistance.FCEDA is matching the state’s money with a $250,000 study.

Fairfax County Economic Development Authority president and CEOJerry Gordon tells GlobeSt that the win for the county illustratesthe submarket’s appeal despite the massive construction underwaythere. With four metro stations and new highway constructionunderway, he was concerned that companies would stay away to avoidthe mess. However, that has not proven to be the case, he says."Companies are looking past the construction to the end result," hesays.
