BELTSVILLE, MD-Jackson-Shaw has sold 45 acres at its Brickyard Station master planned community here to Ryland Homes for $17.76 million. Ryland will construct Brickyard's single-family home component in the 63-acre transit-oriented community, leaving Jackson-Shaw free to develop the multifamily stage of the project. Ryland expects it will build 51 single-family homes and 354 townhomes in total.
Brickyard Station will also include 50,000 square feet of commercial space and two phases of multifamily construction containing 860 units surrounding the Muirkirk MARC station.
Brickyard Station is located within the Brick Yard, a 125-acre sustainable development that also includes the Brick Yard Business Park and a dinosaur fossil park. The project is one of the first transit-oriented developments in suburban Maryland to break ground since the recession. The Brick Yard is represented by Lance Schwarz and David Michael of NAI Michael.
