ROCKLIN, CA-SMA America, the US subsidiary of Germany's SMA Solar Technology AG, is relocating its US headquarters to Opus Properties LLC's Rocklin Corporate Center in a seven-year lease for 40,000 square feet of office space, according to Don Little, president and CEO of Don Little Group. Little, whose company has been retained by Opus Properties LLC to service its Northern California portfolio, says that SMA America will be moving from Del Mar Business Park in Rocklin, where SMA occupies a 25,000-square-foot mixed-use building.

The move to Rocklin Corporate Center will more than quadruple SMA's office space. The company uses 8,000 square feet at its Del Mar Business Park location for office space and the rest for its warehouse. SMA America will maintain the Del Mar location as its service and distribution center, moving all office operations to Rocklin Corporate Center, including sales, marketing, finance and all administrative personnel.

SMA America was represented by Jeff Pehrson and John Walston of TRI Commercial in the Rocklin Corporate Center lease; the building ownership was represented by Kevin Larsheid and Scott Rush of CB Richard Ellis.

SMA produces solar inverter products for all power classes, from small residential photovoltaic systems through utility-scale systems. Solar inverters are the key component in photovoltaic systems that convert direct-current electricity into alternating-current electricity, which is required for use on the public power grid.

The Rocklin Corporate Center is a class A office park at 6020 and 6030 W. Oaks Blvd. that is composed of two steel frame, three-story buildings, each totaling approximately 109,000 square feet. Center owner Opus Properties LLC retains DLG to serve as real estate and development adviser for its Northern California portfolio.
