HAYWARD, CA-Logistics providers Schenker Inc. and Special Distribution California Inc. have signed leases for a total of more than 130,000 square feet at UBS Realty Investors' Winton Industrial Center, according to a Colliers Industrial Team that negotiated the deals on behalf of the building ownership. Both new tenants will occupy a portion of a 277,200-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility recently vacated by Crate & Barrel at the Winton Industrial Center, which is a multiple-building project totaling nearly 826,000 square feet.

Schenker, which is based in Freeport, NY, leased approximately 66,535 square feet at 2820 W. Winton Ave. The new Hayward facility will be a regional distribution center for the Bay Area and northern California marketplace for Schenker, according to Greig Lagomarsino and Rick Keely of Colliers International’s East Bay industrial team, who represented UBS Realty. David Albert of Flagler Real Estate Services in Miami represented Schenker, which has operated in the US since 1947 and now has approximately 33 logistics locations throughout the country totaling nearly 1.5 million square feet.

In the other lease, Houston-based Special Distribution signed for 63,592 square feet at 2842 W. Winton Ave. The Hayward facility is intended to service the warehouse and logistics needs for Bay Area retailer Ross Stores for Special Distribution, which was represented by Steve Perez and Tom Damaschino of Cassidy Turley BT Commercial.
