OKLAHOMA CITY-In an effort to meet the tremendous demand forroofing materials and other building suppliers, Gulfeagle SupplyCo. has entered the local market, leasing a 40,000-square-footindustrial building in Metropolitan Industrial Park.

The Tampa, FL-based firm saw an opportunity to expand itsbusiness after Oklahoma City suffered a devastating hail storm lastmonth, according to Gerald Gamble, president of Gerald L. Gamble& Co. He negotiated the deal, representing both the tenant andthe landlord, Scott Investment Corp.

Gamble, a long-time member of the Society of Office andIndustrial Realtors (SIOR), was referred to Gulfeagle Supply byanother SIOR member, Dan Spika, an executive vice president withHenry S. Miller Brokerage LLC in Dallas. Spika had worked withGulfeagle Supply on a lease transaction in the Dallas-Fort WorthMetroplex and when the firm wanted to move into Oklahoma City,Spika recommended Gamble.

“The city has about $1 billion worth of damage from the storm, and a number of roofing companies have entered the market,” Gambletells GlobeSt. “Gulfeagle supplies materials to these contractors, and although the company had plans to eventually expand to OklahomaCity, the storm gave them a reason to do so now.”

The building materials supplier moved into its new space today.Situated on three acres at 4265 Royal Ave., the two-story buildingoffers roughly 35,000 square feet of warehouse space and 5,000square feet of office space.

The 1980s-era building has been vacant since January whenKellogg left the building to relocate to a 70,000-square-footbuild-to-suit. Gulfeagle Supply is making minimal tenantimprovements including modifications to the office space to createa small showroom.
