Tomorrow's June sales figures are expected to show a 3.2% rise in June, a marked improvement from the 4.9% drop during the same period last year. But we're still far from seeing an overall recovery say analysts in this Reuters article.

Bryan Eshelman of AlixPartners tells the news service: "The fundamental are just not adding up to a recovery." He says that we're still feeling the impact of good numbers in comparison to plunges during last year's monthly same-store sales results.

Part of the problem is also the employment picture. It recently fell, as we lost 225,000 temporary Census jobs.

We don't know whether or not this is a good indicator, but Family Dollar just posted a record profit. Its same-store sales also rose 7%.

Do you see a recovery in the sector, or is it still a long road ahead?
