CARSON, CA-Prompt Warehousing Inc., a public warehousing company that serves all industries, has leased a 118,545-square-foot distribution facility for a nearly a 75% expansion of its West Coast plant capacity, according to the Klabin Company/CORFAC International, which represented the warehousing firm in its lease with building owner ProLogis. The lease was one of two recently signed industrial deals in the L.A. area―the other a 41,736-square-foot industrial building at 166 N. Aviador Rd. in Camarillo that Santa Clara, CA-based Sky High Sports leased.

The new and recently occupied Prompt Warehouse building is at 20821 Santa Fe Ave., where the company employs approximately 50 workers. The new site replaces a 70,000-square-foot building in nearby Rancho Dominguez for Prompt, according to Frank Schulz, Todd Taugner and David Prior of the Klabin Co. Terms of the five -year lease with ProLogis, which represented itself, were not disclosed.

In addition to its services to a diverse range of industries, Prompt Warehousing provides all necessary services to the apparel industry required of the merchandise before it is shipped to their distribution centers or customers. This includes garment labeling and relabeling, button replacements, alterations and pressing.

The new Carson distribution center for Prompt Warehousing is a freestanding concrete tilt-up structure featuring 23 dock high loading positions, 24-foot minimum interior clearance, 5200 square feet of office space and ample on-site parking. The company also has a major East Coast warehousing center in Brooklyn, NY.

In the Camarillo lease, Colliers International reports that Sky High, which operates trampoline fun center s for children, signed a 10-year lease valued at $2.65 million. The company was represented by executive vice president John DeGrinis, senior associate Patrick DuRoss and associate Jeff Abraham, all of Team DeGrinis based in Colliers International’s Encino office.

The fun center offers trampoline dodgeball tournaments and AIRobics classes among other activities. The Camarillo facility is one of four locations opening in October 2010, which will double Sky High's current number of locations. DeGrinis notes that the City of Camarillo required a conditional use permit to operate the fun center. At the hearing, city officials showed overwhelming support for Sky High Sports, DeGrinis adds.

The landlord, private investment firm Marcus Adams Properties LLC, was represented by George Eales and Mitch Conlee of DAUM Commercial Real Estate.
