NEW YORK-Toyoko Inn Co., a hotel operator from Japan, is opening a 640-room hotel in the borough of Queens of New York City. Toyoko Inn will operate from 2012.
Toyoko has plans to charge more than $100 for 200 square-foot rooms for a night. It has hired Gene Kaufman, an architect based in New York, to design the tower and has roped in CNY Builders to construct the hotel. Toyoko runs 225 hotels in Japan. For the full story, go to Wall Street Journal.
