NEW YORK-Toyoko Inn Co., a hotel operator from Japan, is openinga 640-room hotel in the borough of Queens of New York City. ToyokoInn will operate from 2012.

Toyoko has plans to charge more than $100 for 200 square-footrooms for a night. It has hired Gene Kaufman, an architect based inNew York, to design the tower and has roped in CNY Builders toconstruct the hotel. Toyoko runs 225 hotels in Japan. Forthe full story, go to Wall Street Journal.
