HARRIS COUNTY, TX-The Harris County Housing Authority has been awarded a federal grant of $802,792 from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. The funds will be used to improve the local residential realty market. Eight homes will be purchased from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, which will be resold to low-income households.
The grant was made possible through the Department's Neighborhood Stabilization Program, which was originated from the federal Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. For the full story, go to Houston Business Journal.
