CHICAGO-According to MFP Research, apartment occupanciesnationwide have doubled in the first six months of 2010 compared tothat of the whole of 2009. In the period between January 2010 andJune 2010, the number of apartment occupancies in 64 key US citieswent up by 215,000.

The National Multi Housing Council's quarterly index ofoccupancies soared in the latest quarter. Chicago market is morebalanced with city vacancy rate at 6% and suburban vacancy rate at5.5%. For the full story, go to Chicago Tribune.
