NEW YORK CITY-Long-distance carrier IDB Communications Group hasre-upped its New York office space at the Moinian Group’s 90 JohnSt., GlobeSt.com has exclusively learned. The three-year renewal isfor more than 35,000 square feet on two levels at the 32-storyDowntown office tower.

A Newmark Knight Frank team of Adam Leshowitz, Jamie Jacobs andRobert Sattler represented Moinian. Cushman & Wakefield’sJeffrey Heller represented the Los Angeles-based tenant, which isreportedly the fourth largest US-based international long-distancecarrier and the largest US-based international private linecarrier.

Originally founded as a mobile satellite services company in theearly 1980s, IDB diversified during the late 1980s and early 1990s,branching into several broadcasting niches through subsidiaries IDBSystems, IDB Broadcast, IDB Mobile and IDB WorldCom. Leshowitzcomments that the telecom firm has had “a long-term presence atthis well-located asset.” A Moinian spokesman tells GlobeSt.comthat IDB has been based at 90 John for more than 15 years via aseries of short-term leases.
