ARLINGTON, VA-Lease activity in the DC area appears to be stepping up, with two significant deals inked in the past week. One is by the Airlines Reporting Corp., which is taking 68,000 square feet at 3000 Wilson Blvd. here. ARC is relocating from nearby 4100 Fairfax Dr., also in Arlington, and plans move into its new building in the first quarter of 2011.
Creighton Armstrong, Steve Ranck and Dee MacDonald Miller of Jones Lang LaSalle represented ARC, while Spencer Stouffer, Chris Sowick and Bob Hines of Cassidy Turley represented the building owner, Saul Centers.
The building is part of the mixed-use Clarendon Center development, which has a total of 170,000 square feet of office space, 40,000 square feet of street level retail and 244 luxury apartments. It is located next to the Clarendon Metro Station.
In Maryland, meanwhile, First Potomac Realty Trust has signed a four-year renewal for approximately 130,000 square feet with Home Depot at the Glenn Dale Business Center in Glenn Dale. First Potomac also signed a 10-year, 21,350-square-foot lease with the Tile Shop in the Glenn Dale Business Center.
