NEW YORK CITY-On Thursday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other officials revealed the findings of secret investigations conducted on illegal building conversions. They said that the findings will alert landowners who rent apartments that are unsafe to live.
City investigators acting as potential tenants utilized Craigslist ads to check out 62 apartments in five boroughs that were offered for rent.
