PHILADELPHIA-According to a court filing in Duval County, FL, GMAC Mortgage unit, formerly known as GMAC Inc. and a division of Ally Financial Inc., is facing fresh accusations that it expelled house owners without confirming that that company could seize the homes legally or homeowners actually defaulted.

Ally Financial, a Detroit-based home and auto lender, defended that a loophole in the foreclosure procedure allowed its workers to sign documents without the presence of a notary or confirming the validity of the information. For the full story, go to Boston Globe.
