CALABASAS, CA-Jeff McGuire, a 16-year commercial real estate veteran and a former senior investment adviser with ReMax Commercial, has joined Lee & Associates-LA North/Ventura Inc. as a principal specializing in the sale of mid-sized multifamily properties throughout Southern California, with an emphasis on the West Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley and Ventura County markets. Mike Tingus, president of Lee LA North/Ventura, notes that McGuire was among the top 10 producers at ReMax for eight consecutive years, including two years as its top commercial sales specialist in the US. He began his commercial real estate career at Marcus & Millichap and held the position of senior associate before leaving in 1999.
The Lee & Associates Multi-Housing Investments Group has transacted several of the largest sales in the market in recent months, including its latest transaction, the 225-unit Versailles Apartments in L.A.’s Koreatown. The Lee & Associates team on the Versailles transaction included Jim Fisher, Craig Stevens, Mike Smith, all principals.
Terms of the Versailles transaction were not disclosed when GlobeSt.com initially reported the sale in July. Since then, however, buyer Equity Residential of Chicago has disclosed in a public filing that it paid $55 million for the luxury Koreatown complex. The REIT bought the complex from Oxford Associates, an affiliate of Los Angeles-based Frost/Chaddock.
