SANTA MONICA, CA-Dean Pentikis has been named chief investmentofficer of Watt Cos. He will lead all financing operations for thecompany, including the development of new equity partners and thefirm’s strategic acquisitions.

“In the wake of the credit crisis and ensuing commercial realestate downturn, we see tremendous opportunities ahead,” says JamesMaginn, president and CEO of Watt Cos. “Dean will complement ourefforts by developing new investor relationships and expanding ourreach throughout Southern California and across the US.”

Immediately prior to joining Watt Cos., Pentikis was partner andmanager of the Los Angeles office for Apollo Real Estate AdvisorsLP, with primary responsibility for all equity and debttransactions in the West. There, he managed a portfolio oforiginated deals and legacy projects with total capitalization ofmore than $2.5 billion. He originated over a half a billion dollarsof debt and equity for all different property types at Apollo, andoversaw the day-to-day management of funds invested in the US andEurope.
