CHICAGO-Tate & Lyle PLC, a manufacturer of Splenda sweetener, is securing a $15 million incentive from the state of Illinois for its new food innovation and commercial center, which will be constructed in northwest suburban Hoffman Estates.
The $26 million, 110,000-square-foot facility will feature taste-testing facilities and laboratories and is expected to be completed by the end of 2011. The firm is also leasing a three-story tower in the Prairie Stone Corporate Center complex at 5450 Prairie Stone Parkway to relocate its North American Headquarters.
