]FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-As it continues its push to compete against CB Richard Ellis in Florida, Jones Lang LaSalle has added Zach Wendelin to its line up. Wendelin takes on a vice president role in the company’s brokerage division.

Teaming up with JLL Senior Vice President Alice Lucia, Wendelin’s job is to grab new landlord agency representation and tenant representation business in Broward County and southern Palm Beach County. JLL is responsible for leasing and management of more than 12 million square feet of commercial space across the state.

“Because of all the construction that has taken place over the last couple of years, the southern Palm Beach county market represents about 11 million feet of office space,” Wendelin tells GlobeSt.com. “Even though it has been one of the hardest hit markets in terms of activity, it’s one of the greatest markets for opportunity for brokers.”

A rising star with six years of commercial real estate experience, Wendelin served as an associate at Cushman & Wakefield in Miami before switching allegiances to JLL. He was previously an investment sales broker at Marcus & Millichap. His team most recently represented 2.3 million square feet of space, including buildings such as the Royal Palm at Southpointe, One Financial Plaza, and the Delray Corporate Campus.

“Zach has plenty of local market knowledge and experience in Broward and southern Palm Beach county,” Lucia tells GlobeSt.com. “He gives us an ability to make sure our clients are covered at all times, and now they get double the knowledge and double the experience.”

Jones Lang LaSalle is making major Florida market moves. The company recruited Wendelin less than a week after poaching two real estate stars from other firms. JLL snatched Yvonne Baker and Aaron Gray to serve in its Orlando office one day and promoted Steve Medwin to head of brokerage in South Florida the next. The company also opened an office in Jacksonville last week.
