ROCHELLE, IL-Bay Valley Foods, a division of TreeHouse Foods Inc., has expanded its lease here for a 337,000-square-foot addition to its current facility here in ProLogis Park Rochelle. The company already leases a 620,000-square-foot warehouse and production facility, which is uses as warehouse space and for packaging and labeling canned soup products.

ProLogis built the original facility for the food distributor on the 31-acre site in 2008, with the option for this expansion. Bay Valley has a three-year tax abatement on the property.

Larry Harmsen, president of ProLogis’ US and Canada office, said the new extension will cost about $11.6 million. “We continue to see signs of stabilization and improvement in the industrial real estate market,” Harmsen said in a statement.

His company’s 300-acre business park is at the intersection of Interstates 88 and 39. The park includes two buildings totaling 1.2 million square feet, with the capacity for four million square feet. The other tenants in the park include Del Monte and Clark Cincinnati. ProLogis has about 25.2 million square feet in the Chicago industrial market.
