NEW YORK CITY-The state is planning for a casino in theCatskills. Governor David Paterson has inked a deal with theStockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans to develop a new casino andresort in the hill country.

Under a land-settlement agreement, the band will give up a230,000-acre land in Madison County for a 300-acre land in SullivanCounty. State lawmakers are looking at the project as a blessingbecause it will help to regain the local economy. For thefull story, go to New York Observer.
