PEEKSKILL, NY-Peekskill city situated in the Hudson Valley hopesthat the construction of living-and-work loft spaces formiddle-income artists would boost its commercial center. Thepresident of Peekskill Art Lofts, a 28-apartment project, ThomasLeigh has said that it would be harder to fill the units.

Three units in the apartment are now up for sale. The lofts,opened in 2002, have single-bedroom and double-bedroom units. Theyare built as a co-op and range from 1,200 to 2,000 square feet.For the full story, go to Wall Street Journal.
