NEW YORK CITY-The state government, which has been controlling the stores in the central corridor of Main Street in the East River, may handover them to private firms. A joint venture of the Hudson Companies and Related Cos. submitted a bid to acquire the 98,000-square-foot retail stores from Roosevelt Island Operating Corp.
The joint venture was the only bidder for the entire retail stores. Jones Lang LaSalle is overseeing the bidding process. Hudson and Related have plans to upgrade the space. For the full story, go to Wall Street Journal.
