BOSTON-A bill to be submitted next month will offer increased protection for homeowners and increase the transparency of the foreclosure process in Massachusetts.
The bill, submitted by Secretary of State William F. Galvin, will require mortgage lenders to obtain court approval before foreclosing on a property. Massachusetts is one among the 27 states in the US that currently do not require foreclosures to be examined in court and therefore will exercise stricter control over the foreclosure process in the state.
