BOSTON-A bill to be submitted next month will offer increasedprotection for homeowners and increase the transparency of theforeclosure process in Massachusetts.

The bill, submitted by Secretary of State William F. Galvin,will require mortgage lenders to obtain court approval beforeforeclosing on a property. Massachusetts is one among the 27 statesin the US that currently do not require foreclosures to be examinedin court and therefore will exercise stricter control over theforeclosure process in the state.
