NEW YORK CITY-The New York Aquarium has plans for $150 million renovation, which includes a giant shark exhibit, shining aluminum exterior and entry from the Coney Island boardwalk. The renovation was announced in 2009 by the Wildlife Conservation Society and the city.
About 1,000-foot high spiral ramp made of shimmering aluminum square will be added to the aquarium, and the renovated part of the aquarium will span 50,000 square feet. The construction is expected to start in 2012 and end in 2015. For the full story, go to Wall Street Journal.
