NEW YORK CITY-The tumultuous legal battles surrounding Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper Village continue to rage on. The complex has been embroiled in one legal controversy after another since being purchased by Tishman Speyer four years ago.
The complex has witnessed legal problems that range from the apartments' deregulation to foreclosure problems. The Stuy Town tenants' huge victory in March 2009 is also short-lived with the complex now engulfed in a new problem as the complex's rent agreement expired recently.
