CARSON, CA-NYK Logistics has signed a lease for 258,678 square feet at Watson Land Co.'s Watson Industrial Center, following closely a lease of 200,892 by Pacer Distribution Services and increasing the total of leases at the 6.7-million-square-foot industrial center to more than 730,000 square feet in the second half of 2010. NYK's warehousing and distribution center will accommodate an expansion of the third party logistics provider’s operations in a 27-month lease valued at approximately $6 million.
James Armstrong, SVP and general manager for NYK, says that the expansion is a response to growing demand for the logistic company's services. The property is located on 18.52 acres at 771 Watsoncenter Rd. and includes approximately 8.4 acres of excess land dedicated for trailer storage spots and 56 dock-high truck positions.
