CHICAGO-Following a decade of Jones Lang LaSalle handling facility management for Harris Bank’s 310 banks in the Midwest, the bank has hired JLL to a five-year contract to handle property management as well. The portfolio is made up of about four million square feet in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, as well as some affiliate offices throughout the country.

Based locally, the bank is owned by Toronto-based BMO Financial Group. The company hired JLL to provide property management, transaction management and strategic consulting for Harris Bank office and retail properties. Also, JLL will continue to provide facility management.

C. Scott Ford, national director for JLL’s Corporate Solutions division, tells GlobeSt.com that retail banking is one of the firm’s core competencies during a time that financial firms are looking for efficiencies. “Outsourcing is a great way to for these banks to save money,” Ford said. He would not comment on the cost of the contract.
