DETROIT-The city's Downtown Development Authority has approved a plan to renovate David Whitney Building as a mixed-use development. The 18-story building located at Grand Circus Park and Woodward was designed by Daniel Burnham, an architect from Chicago.
David Whitney Building, opened in 1915, housed dentists and doctors. The DDA approved a proposal to offer a loan of $1 million to aid Whitney Partners', which includes the Roxbury Group and Trans Inn Management, purchase of the building. For the full story, go to The Detroit Free Press.
