NEW YORK CITY-Despite split between the building owner and the city, a plan for opening a homeless shelter for men on the Upper West Side is proceeding forward. The single-room occupancy building located at 306 W. 94 St. will be converted into a transitional shelter.
Samaritan Village Inc. will manage the shelter at an annual cost of $7.9 million for nine years. Eight tenants in the building have decided to move out only if there is an amicable solution. For the full story, go to Wall Street Journal.
