CHICAGO-Chicago-based Newcastle Ltd. has bought a former post office property in Streeterville for $5.9 million. The real estate investment firm has purchased the two-story, 15,500-square-foot building located at 227 E. Ontario St. from a venture of Younan Properties Inc. from California and a local investor, Jeffrey Frankel.
Newcastle has plans to replace the former US Postal Service site with retail tenants and restaurants. The building is located east of Michigan Avenue. Oakbrook Terrace-based Mid-America represented the seller in the deal. For the full story, go to Crain's Chicago Business.
