NEW YORK CITY-Sustainable building product supplier and retailer Green Depot has acquired a West Coast counterpart in Seattle-based Ecohaus, thus expanding its geographic reach. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“By joining forces with Ecohaus, Green Depot is strongly positioned for continued growth throughout America,” says Green Depot founder Sarah Beatty in a release.  “We’re delighted to combine resources and work together to achieve our shared vision for a diverse, sophisticated green supply chain and a sustainably thriving America.”

Brooklyn-based Green Depot currently operates 10 retail stores, including a Manhattan flagship, and a dozen distribution centers. It operates in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Midwest as well as via the web.

Founded in 1992, Ecohaus has locations in San Francisco and Portland, OR as well as Seattle. In 2009, King County in Washington State recognized Ecohaus with a Green Globe Award for achievement in developing a market for recycled materials. Ecohaus’ website is now cross-linked with the Green Depot site and will eventually be redirected, according to a release.
