ROSSLYN, VA-IE Discovery and New Media Strategies signed new agreements at their Rosslyn locations, building owner Monday Properties tells GlobeSt.com. In general, the company’s local portfolio is doing great, spokesperson Andrew Twersky tells GlobeSt.com, putting its occupancy at roughly 94%.

IE Discovery renewed its 12,000-square-foot space at 1101 Wilson Blvd, while New Media Strategies signed a 7,500-square-foot expansion at 1100 Wilson Blvd. Kevin McBride of Jones Lang LaSalle represented IE Discovery in the transaction and Kevin Brant and David Houck, also of of JLL, represented New Media Strategies. John Wharton represented Monday Properties in-house for all of the deals.

This is New Media’s second expansion in the past year, which means the company now occupies a total of more than 25,000 square feet in the building. The company is expanding its headcount, which is the reason for the new lease. Last year, it added approximately 35 people to its payroll; in 2011 it plans to bring on board another 40.

Last month, Allbritton Communications Co. signed a new 16,000-square-foot lease expansion at the 1000 and 1100 Wilson Blvd. buildings in Rosslyn, VA. With this additional space, Allbritton and its affiliate companies--WJLA-TV, NewsChannel 8, TBD, POLITICO and Irides, along with its corporate offices--will now occupy more than 100,000 square feet in the buildings.
