SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA-Sportswear distributor Americana Activewear has signed a lease for 240,000 square feet at 1130 Bloomfield Ave. in an expansion to accommodate the company's growing West Coast customer base, according to Cushman & Wakefield brokers who negotiated the lease. The Cushman & Wakefield team included Britt Casey of the company’s suburban Chicago office in Rosemont, IL, along with Rooney Daschbach and Eric Daschbach of the company’s Los Angeles South Bay operation in Long Beach, CA who represented the tenant in the site search and lease negotiation. John McMillan, Jeff Sanita and Tim Wallace of Cushman & Wakefield’s Los Angeles Downtown office served as landlord broker for Alere Property Group, which owns 11130 Bloomfield Ave.
Casey, who maintains a 15-year working relationship with Americana Activewear, commented: “The company is planning a substantial expansion to accommodate its growing West Coast customer base." He added that Americana Activewear already maintains a 60,000-square-foot distribution center in Gardena, CA.
“Americana Activewear has a solid customer base that is centered near its current operation,” Casey explained. “However, the company is positioning for growth in size and stature further north and east. Santa Fe Springs is a reasonable compromise in terms of location. It will enable the company to protect its current business while stretching its reach significantly.”
Rooney Daschbach added that the Bloomfield Avenue building "serves Americana Activewear well because it offers a central location with respect to its regional customer base.” McMillan described Bloomfield Business Center as "a rare infill class A cross-dock facility with all the bells and whistles. These factors contribute to its reputation as one of the best industrial facilities in Los Angeles County."
Casey noted that the site search spanned two southern California submarkets, Los Angeles South Bay and the Inland Empire. In both cases, Casey worked with Cushman & Wakefield’s local, senior industrial brokers, including Rooney Daschbach in the South Bay and Phil Lombardo in Ontario for the Inland Empire.
