MEXICO CITY-Nestle has sold its 30-year-old regional headquarters here and is moving as an anchor into a new multitenant building, also in the city. The cost for the both the sale and the new lease is more than $100 million, according to Jones Lang LaSalle, which represented the company in the two transactions.
The company had operated out of its own 180,000-square-foot building. The company sold the site for an undisclosed amount, and will move into 60% of a new 200,000-square-foot multitenant office property. The building will be finished by August 2013, says Hector Klerian, international director for JLL.
“Nestle moved out of an outdated property into a new modern facility, where it will be the anchor tenant. The new facility is on a leased basis, which is more consistent with the space that Nestle occupies elsewhere,” Klerian tells GlobeSt.com.
His company has also be hired to manage the build-out of Nestle’s new offices. Parent company Nestle SA, based in Switzerland, operates 14 manufacturing plants and 16 distribution centers in Mexico.
