LOS ANGELES-Barry Rothstein, a 24-year industry veteran, has joined the West Los Angeles office capital group of Newmark Knight Frank as a managing director. He joins from NAI Capital, where he was recognized as Broker of the Year and negotiated both sides of the $66.6 million sale of Promenade at Town Center, a shopping center in Valencia, CA.
During his 24-year career, Rothstein earned the reputation of a transaction troubleshooter, navigating complex deals and creating unique solutions for due diligence, title, loan, contract and escrow problems. He is experienced in all property types, brokering sales of large credit-anchored shopping centers and single-tenant net leased retail, industrial, office and multifamily properties.
Rothstein has sold more than $480 million in investment real estate during his career. “The scope of transactions Barry Rothstein has been able to manage over his 24 year career, gives him tremendous insight into the Los Angeles market and his experience and knowledge allows him to price the market transparently," says Michael Sheinkop, executive vice president for national brokerage and advisory services.
“I look forward to leveraging Newmark Knight Frank’s platform and doing what I love most: brokering investment deals,” Rothstein said.
Before joining NAI Capital, Rothstein was an executive vice president at Triad Property Management Inc., where he oversaw the management of 4,500 apartment units and one million square feet of retail, office and industrial properties. Before that, Rothstein worked at the law firm of O’Melveny & Meyers.
