DALY CITY, CA-Developer Oliver McMillan of San Diego has started an upgrade of the 95-unit 88 Hillside condominium project in preparation for the opening of sales at the development.  The San Diego-based company, which recently received a certificate of completion for 88 Hillside from the City of Daly City, acquired the condo project at 88 Hillside in September.

The upgrade will be a $5 million project that will provide "the luxury image and finishes needed for its sales debut improvements upgrade," according to Dan Nishikawa, senior vice president and principal of OliverMcMillan overseeing the project. The luxury mid-rise condominium will offer ocean views and adjacent access to BART in Daly City, just outside of San Francisco.

Oliver McMillan has named Pacific Marketing Associates to oversee the sales and marketing for 88 Hillside, following PMA’s track record with successful sell-outs such as Park Station, 555 Bartlett and Union-SF. Union was the City’s fastest-selling housing property for all of 2010, and one of the best sellers throughout the Bay Area.

The 88 Hillside project is located at Hillside and John Daly Boulevard in Daly City. The developer says that selling points include its location 10 minutes from Downtown San Franisco, three blocks from the Daly City BART station with easy access to Interstate 280. It is one of the largest new home properties to debut in 2011 in the area, with units ranging from one to three bedrooms in single and two-story condos and townhomes.

Homes at 88 Hillside will start in the $300,000s. Nishikawa says that, with comparable view-condominiums in Downtown San Francisco selling at twice that price, the Oliver McMillan expects strong sales at its project, which includes a six-story mid-rise building as well as flats and townhomes in the low-rise portion of the property. Ground-floor retail space along its Mission Blvd. frontage already has an initial tenant, the Via Mare restaurant, opening once improvements are complete, and will be joined by cafes, fitness operators, neighborhood-style shops and other retailers.
